A Song From The Woods

Salty is the ocean water -
It consists of our tears.
But for whales, fish, sea otters
That’s alright, as it appears.

Water’s cold. Well, that’s a bummer,
But it’s good for us, I’m told:
It is never hot in summer,
And in winter it’s not cold.

Coast of Mendocino…
Didn’t you see it in your dream?
Sky of blue and sea of green – Ah!
Where’s the yellow submarine?

From the hills a little river
Gathers water, does its best
As it’s striving to deliver
What dilutes the ocean taste.

It brought sand to form the beach
With breathtaking sunset view.
Isn’t that a lovely picture?
It’s the best I ever knew.

Little River cove…
Didn’t you see it in your dream?
As the sun is going low,
Melted gold the waters seem.

Nearby are mighty forests,
Smell of needles in the air;
Pines and cedars and sequoias
Reaching for the sky out there.

Under pines or maybe next to
Manzanitas or tanoak
Open eyes would spot the best of
Tasty mushrooms as you walk.

Jackson Demo Forest…
Didn’t you see it your dream?
It provides free dinner for us:
Mushrooms gathered therein.

In the forest there live deer,
Bears, pumas, birds of prey.
Human settlement stands near,
Shaped as bicycle sideways.

Two big circles formed by homes -
Someone looking at the sky
Through eye-glasses. It’s unknown,
What they’re looking for and why.

The Woods amid the pines...
Didn't you see it in your dream?
No stress and clear mind -
That's what it should really mean!
